Lincoln Park House Fire Investigated as ‘Suspicious’

Someone Seen Running Away from Home at Time of Fire

DULUTH, Minn.-A Monday structure fire at 2006 W. Fourth St. has been deemed suspicious by the Duluth Fire Department.

“This fire is suspicious in nature with a report of a person fleeing the scene before the fire was reported,” said the Duluth Fire Department in a prepared statement.

When crews responded to the fire at the Lincoln Park home, they could see smoke coming from the front of the house. They quickly then went to the second floor of the house and knocked down all the flames, while searching for occupants.

No one was found inside the home. Initial reports indicate that the fire did not spread from its initial place of origin in the home.

Twenty firefighters responded to the scene and none were injured. About $20,000 in damages were caused by the fire.

The Duluth Fire Marshall is continuing to investigate the incident.
