Man Dies in ATV Accident in Town of Oakland

Accident Occurred Saturday

Town of Oakland, Wis.-A 28-year-old man has died as the result of injuries sustained in an ATV accident in the Town of Oakland Saturday.

Andrew Mirkot, of South Range, has been identified as the victim.

The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Clara Barton Road. When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they decided to airlift the victim to a hospital in Duluth. He died the next day.

The crash remains under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
