Body Found in Ironwood Home that was Set for Demolition

Believed to be the Homeowner

IRONWOOD, Mich.-The Ironwood Department of Public Safety have discovered human remains inside a home that was due for demolition Monday.

The Ironwood home was being inspected prior to being destroyed when the remains were found. Authorities have said the person found inside the home had been deceased “for some time, and was perhaps the homeowner.”

Authorities have identified the individual as 80-year-old Gerald Glen Thompson.

No foul play is suspected. The investigation is on-going at this time.
