Donations Needed to Send Northland Veterans on Honor Flight

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held this Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m

DULUTH, Minn. – The Northland’s tenth Honor Flight will depart Duluth next month for Washington D.C., but they still need help to get there.

Honor Flight Northland is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser this Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the All American Club, 1931 West Michigan Street.

Dinner is $10 per person. All money raised will fund sending 162 veterans and caretakers to the war memorials in D.C.

Organizers say a simple donation is a great way of thanking Northland veterans for their service and letting them experience this unforgettable trip.

“It cost almost $90,000 to send a whole plane full of veterans and their guardians out there for the day,” said Sharen Larson, committee chair of Honor Flight Northland. “Any money we can get to help raise for such a great cause is wonderful.”

The Honor Flight takes off on April 29th and will represent World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans.

If you can’t make it out to the fundraiser on Saturday, Honor Flight Northland accepts cash or check donations at the All American Club.
