Hermantown K9 Officer Receives Body Armor
The vest is sponsored by an Anonymous Donor

HERMANTOWN, Minn. – Hermantown Police Department’s K9, Jack, has received a bullet and stab protective vest.
The vest comes as a charitable donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. Jack’s vest is sponsored by an Anonymous Donor and has been embroidered with the sentiment “Born to love, trained to serve, loyal to the end.”
K9 Jack hit the streets almost a year ago, in May 2016 with his partner, Officer Jon Pernu. Jack has been trained as a patrol dog and is also certified in tracking and narcotics detection.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a charity located in Taunton, Massachusetts, whose mission is to provide bullet and stab proof protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. Since its inception in 2009, the non-profit has provided over 2,400 vests, in 50 states.
