Local Shop Offers Free Coffee to Law Enforcement

Grand World Coffee Gives Free Coffee to Police to Thank Them for Their Service

DULUTH, Minn. – Grand World Coffee in West Duluth is offering a special treat for law enforcement officers.

Any officer who comes into the coffee shop will receive a free cup of coffee.

The Grand World owners say they think it’s an important way to reach out to law enforcement and make them feel welcome in the community.

“City, county, state patrol, if they come in, just free coffee. Just our little way of saying thanks, appreciate your efforts and what you do on a daily basis,” says Gary Towne, owner of Grand World Coffee.

“It’s just a cup of coffee but I think the gesture’s important, maybe the olive branch to say hey, a little bit of thanks, because I don’t think they get thanks much.”

The free cup of joe will be given to any officer, on duty or off, any time they want to stop in.
