PAVSA Hosts 8th Annual Herstory Luncheon
The Luncheon Focused on the Volunteer Program at PAVSA
DULUTH, Minn.- The 8th annual Program for Aid to Victims Herstory Luncheon took place at the GreySolon Ballroom on Thursday.
Each year PAVSA focuses on a certain aspect of the organization at the luncheon, and this year, they focused on the volunteer Advocacy program. PAVSA representatives say Volunteers are crucial to the organization, and that the group would not be able to do what they do without the volunteers.
“PAVSA actually started with volunteers. We had a couple people who started taking hospital calls, taking crisis calls from individuals, so that’s the initiation of the whole organization,” said Candy Harshner, the Executive Director of PAVSA.
The luncheon served as one of PAVSA’s first events for sexual assault awareness month.
