Superior Lawyer Announces Bid for Douglas County District Attorney
For the first time in 25 years, the race for Douglas County District Attorney will be contested.
Current District Attorney Dan Blank has run unopposed until now.
31-year-old Mark Fruehauf officially announced his bid for District Attorney, with the support of Douglas County Sheriff Tom Dalbec.
Fruehauf has been practicing law in Superior for nearly six years.. spending two years in the Douglas County Attorney’s Office.
Fruehauf says after 25 years it’s time for a change.
He says if elected, he will work hard to combat the drug epidemic in Douglas County.
“The job of District Attorney is to get convictions and recommend sentences that will hold defendants accountable, so using the power of that office to send a message to other people that are thinking of engaging in that behavior. You might want to think twice about it,” said Fruehauf.
Dan Blank, reigning District Attorney, has announced that he will run for re-election.
