One Seriously Injured in Snowmobile Accident near Cook

One person was seriously injured following a snowmobile accident near Cook on Monday.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on the Arrowhead Snowmobile Trail just after noon on Monday.

Police say 57-year-old Vivian Kec was snowmobiling with a group when she failed to negotiate a curve in the trail and struck a tree.

Kec was taken by helicopter to a Duluth hospital in serious condition.

Authorities say she was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
