Lake Superior Railroad Museum Celebrates National Train Day

DULUTH, Minn.- The Lake Superior Railroad museum celebrated National Train day, Saturday.

Train lovers had the chance to see the Steam locomotive number 28 which was steamed up and on display to the public for the first time. The day also included kid friendly activities, live music, and a dedication and christening of steam locomotive number 28.

“To preserve this kind of history and especially to preserve it to the point that it’s running so that you know our kids and grandchildren can see it and learn from it and it’s nice to see how the industry has progressed,” said Bob Purcell a shop mechanic at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum.

The train was initially built in 1906.
