Duluth Residents Could Face Water-Rate Hikes

Would Go Up 4.7 Percent a Year from 2018-2023

DULUTH, Minn.-The Duluth Public Utilities Commission plans on raising the city’s water rates 4.7 percent a year beginning in 2018.

The rate increase would go through 2023.

They hope the increase will help pay for reconstructing parts of its water supply system which is aging.

The commission will have meetings throughout June to get public input, and they hope to improve the plan by September.
