One Killed in Cass County ATV Accident
Three Other ATV Crashes Occur Saturday in Cass County
CASS COUNTY, Minn.-An ATV crash at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday left the driver dead and two passengers injured in Loon Lake Township near Pequot Lakes.
Steve Verville, 42, of Pequot Lakes, was killed. He was driving down a driveway on an ATV when it left the road and struck a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other men were taken to Brainerd hospital after the incident.
Three other ATV crashes were reported in the Cass County area over the weekend. At about noon on Saturday, a 57-year-old man was pinned under his ATV in Bull Moose Township near Backus. The driver, who was from Arizona, was transported to a Twin Cities hospital via air transport.
At about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, another ATV accident was reported in Bull Moose Township. This time, a 22-year-old man from Marshall fell off his ATV near the Foot Hills State Forest and was injured. He was also taken to a Brainerd hospital.
Another crash was reported at about 6 p.m. Saturday in Remer Township, when two people were injured after the driver of an ATV lost control of it and rolled several times. A 56-year-old man from St. Michael was taken to a Deer River hospital, while a 54-year-old women from Clearwater was airlifted to Duluth.
