Take a Kid Fishing Weekend Begins in Minnesota

People Who Fish With Kids 15 Or Younger Don't Need a License

DULUTH, Minn.- Take-A-Kid fishing is a state wide event, where Minnesotans 16 or older who take kids 15 or younger fishing, can do so without a fishing license

Many believe it’s a great way to promote quality time with family, while teaching children how to enjoy the natural beauty that the Northland has to offer. Some even say it’s a great way to get kids away from TV and phone screens.

“It’s something you can do forever you know, you can play football or baseball but most of us don’t get much further than High School. Teach a kid how to fish, they can do it for the rest of their lives,” said Russ Francisco, the Owner of Marine General.

Take a kid fishing weekend started Friday and goes through the weekend.
