Elderly Man Struck, Killed Crossing Intersection
The Victim Was 89 Years Old
An elderly man was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle while trying to cross an intersection, according to Duluth police.
It happened around 6 p.m. at Grand Avenue and 56th Avenue West.
The 89-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Russ Bradley, a police information officer.
As of late Wednesday night, police were not providing further details about the accident, like the name of the victim, cause of the accident and the status of the driver of the SUV.
The Minnesota State Patrol was called to the scene to perform an accident reconstruction on the scene.
