Man Dies in Bessemer Twp. Crash

Authorities Don't Know How Car Went Off Road

BESSEMER TOWNSHIP, Mich. – One man is dead following an overnight crash on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Gogebic County Sheriffs say 63 year old Donald Houghton of Lake Villa, Ill. died when his car drove off South County Road 519 in Bessemer Township, hitting several trees.

A passing driver found Houghton’s car and called police.

Investigators don’t know when the crash happened or why Houghton ended up off the road.
