First Taste of Duluth Event Takes Over Bayfront Festival Park

Thousands Turned Out For a Sampling of Duluth

DULUTH, Minn.- Duluth is known for its culture, tight knit community, Local businesses, And music and art scene, and Saturday, all of those components of the city came together at Bayfront Festival Park, for the Taste of Duluth Event.

“By taste we don’t mean taste as in your taste buds,” said Tracy Lundeen of Lundeen Productions. “It’s a taste of who we are, a taste of what we eat, a taste of beer, a taste of our industry, a taste of our art, a taste of our music, it’s really all of that, so that’s where the taste of Duluth comes from.”

And though it was the first ever event, Thousands of people turned out to the park, for a small sampling of what the city has to offer.

“We’re just excited to be out here to support the city,” said Becky Hedblom, an attendee.

Organizers were pleasantly surprised by the number of visitors and are hoping to make the event bigger and better next year.

“It’s going to end up at the end of the day, even bigger than we anticipated for a first year event,” said Lundeen.
