Trailer Storing Fireworks Stolen From Superior Small Business

A trailer filled with $4,000 worth of fireworks was stolen from a shed outside the store

SUPERIOR, Wisc. – An investigation is ongoing in Superior after $4,000 worth of fireworks were stolen from VP Wild Rice Company. Police say somebody broke in to a locked storage shed outside the store and stole a trailer filled with fireworks.

The locally–owned business along E. 2nd Street relies on firework sales around the 4th of July to help carry them through the slower winter months.

Jim VanLandschoot, one of the owners at VP Wild Rice Company tells us he’s noticed an uptick in crime nearby, with multiple car break-ins over the past few weeks.

“I’d like them to catch the perpetrators and have a little justice,” said VaLandschoot.  “I think we’ve put up with enough thefts around the city and it’s time to clean it up a little bit.”

The Superior Police Department has no leads as of right now. If you know anything, call 9–1–1 right away.
