Three Dead In Double Murder-Suicide In Ashland
Police: All Involved Were Relatives
Tragedy struck the small town of Ashland Thursday after three people were found dead inside a home there. Authorities suspect the investigation to be a double murder-suicide.
“When they entered the house, they found two females that were deceased and one male that was deceased,” Police Capt. Jim Gregoire said.
Law enforcement confirmed more than a dozen shots were fired inside the home sometime before noon, with some bullets even exiting outside the home and shattering nearby vehicles.
Police believe the 54-year-old man shot and killed the two relatives — both women ages 23 and 84 — before taking his own life.
“It’s all about the family and what happened here. And it effects everyone. It’s not fun — it’s bad,” Gregoire said.
“I just spoke to our Mayor. It causes ripples and I am filled with sorrow,”Gregoire said.
The investigation is still pending and the names of the deceased will be released once the family is notified.
A motive was also not clear Thursday night.
This is the first murder to rock Ashland in 2015, according to Gregoire.
