Lack of Snow Slowing Business In Northland
Sonju Two Harbors Snowmobile Business Stagnant
Two Harbors is a popular tourist destination in the summer and fall months, but in the winter, business dries up a bit.
Blackwoods assistant manager Mary Marker, says winter is the slow time of year for the Two Harbors location, but business usually remains steady with folks passing through on their way to ski resorts and snowmobile trails.
Sonju Two Harbors usually specializes in snowmobile sales during the winter, but as of Monday, they had sold only 10 sleds all year, well short of the annual average of 40.
Polaris Manager Verone Dillon said December is usually her busiest month for sled sales, but the 25 new sleds on her sales floor, haven’t moved since she set them out, November 1st.
Snowfall is well below average this year, if it weren’t for the large snow storm last week, most of the Northland would be more than 50% below average.
