Residents Discuss Duluth’s East-West Divide

Speak Your Peace: The Civility Project Held Workshop at Lincoln Park Middle School

DULUTH, Minn. – People from different sides of Duluth had a discussion about the divide between the east and west side and how to bridge that gap.

Speak You Peace: The Civility Project held the workshop at Lincoln Park Middle School.

Elected officials and local residents were part of the discussion that focused on creating a civil community and ending the divide in Duluth.

“When we work through difficult conversations, we can make progress, so that’s ultimately the goal: Provide greater level of skill in our community on how to work through issues,” said Rob Karwath of the Duluth Superior Community Foundation.

Next year is the fifteenth anniversary of the project.

Leaders hope more community workshops will be held to address problems in the Northland.
