Fire Engulfs Garage in Rice Lake Township

RICE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Minn. – Tuesday morning fire filled a garage in Rice Lake Township.

Crews got the call to 4055 Fairview Rd. just at 6:27 a.m.

Upon arrival, responders found a large pole barn-style garage fully engulfed in flames.

An adult female and two adult males were safely evacuated from the adjacent residence with no injuries.

Fire department personnel successfully contained the fire to the garage and suppressed the fire.

At 8:26 a.m. the fire was declared out.

The garage suffered significant damage.

The residence suffered minor damage due to radiant heat.

The State Fire Marshall was contacted for origin and cause determination.

Canosia, Lakewood, Rice Lake and Air Guard fire departments responded.

FOX 21 spoke with the homeowner who believes the fire started from a wood stove in the garage.
