Cloquet Area Fire District Giving out Reflective Bracelets for Trick-or-Treaters

More Than 600 Free Slap Bracelets Will Be Handed Out

CLOQUET, Minn. – The Cloquet Area Fire District is giving out reflective wristbands to keep kids safe while trick or treating.

More than six-hundred of the free slap bracelets will be given out by firefighters tonight.

According to fire district officials, kids are twice as likely to get hit by a car on Halloween as they are on any other night.

Giving them reflectors is one way to help keep them safe.

“Keep in mind to be careful of the cars driving by, always cross at crosswalks,” said Captain Sarah Buhs, Public Education Coordinator of the Cloquet Area Fire District. “If you are driving, make sure you are extra attentive to kids crossing the streets and be safe out there and have fun.”

“The kids really enjoy getting the slap wristbands. We’ve been doing this for five years, so there’s a lot of people that are familiar with this and look forward to seeing us.”
