Iron Range May Soon Get ‘Makerspace’

A group is looking for backing on a shared work space that would give members access to tools and each other.

Iron Range Makerspace is a developing business that hopes to bring a space if the community jumps on board with this idea.

The Makerspace would give access to different welding, carpentry and car tools to members.

“We are providing the opportunity to use equipment that might not otherwise be obtainable. We can offer you that equipment for a lot less than what it would cost you to buy it. In fact you buy a welter and you could’ve had years at this space,” said Andrew Hanegmon, manager of the project.

The other hope with a co–working space is to bring creative people together and help fine tune different skills — while increasing business development.

With backing from different sources, the hope is to have a building within six months.
