Highway 53 Project Begins Bridge Work

We’re getting you up close and by boat to check out the base work for the new Highway 53 redevelopment project on the Iron Range.

Monday’s crews were installing the bridge’s support beams for the structure.

There will be a total of 32 beams when it is all done.

And with the weather continuing to stay above average, the crew hopes to work on the road portion of the project through late January and finish the rest of the piling work by mid-February.
