Hundreds gathered in the Mitchell Auditorium Friday evening to listen to the story of Matt Hamill, a professional Mixed Martial Art Fighter.

Hamill is also deaf.

The St. Scholastica American Sign Language and Deaf Culture Club hosted the event.

Hamill shared stories of his successful career in fighting, as well as stories about overcoming adversity.

Hamill’s story was the basis for the movie “The Hammer”.
