U.S. Congressman Keith Ellison was in Duluth Monday to talk about the “State of Black America” and the way to move forward.

The Rev. Richard Coleman of St. Mark African American Episcopal Church said he’s encouraged by the growing interest to end racism, but he’s discouraged by America’s ability to do something about it.

“Racism has not gone away in America. It has perhaps changed its colors, techniques and tactics. But the spirit of racism is still intact and the institution of racism is present,” said Rev. Coleman.

U.S. Congressman Rick Nolan was also a speaker at the event.
