Duluth mayoral candidate Chuck Horton is thanking voters as he closes the chapter on his first run for political office.
Horton lost the race to Duluth City Council President Emily Larson with Larson taking 72 percent of the vote.
Horton said it was an honor to be involved and he learned a lot from being on the campaign trail.
“I lost a race against a political insider. I was a long shot kid. I battled for it,” Horton said Tuesday night. “I want to congratulate Emily on her victory. I think it’s a very neat and historic thing that we have our first female mayor. I think that’s awesome and I look forward to the future.”
Horton told FOX 21 he plans to start up a citizen’s drug task force and is not ruling out another political run in the future.
