A just-released study shows Duluth is the No. 3 in the state for economic impact from the arts and culture scene.

The results from the Creative Minnesota report were released Monday evening at the Duluth Art Institute.

The results show Duluth pulling in more than $36 million annually from the non-profit arts and culture sector of the city and the audiences they serve.

“Arts and culture has tremendous impact — and of the plan we are doing — looks to build on that impact and expand it and grow it,” said Mary Mathews, president of the Duluth Public Arts Commission.

The commission will release its new updated vision for the city in early 2016.
