Superior Street Steam Pipes Removal Starts Today

DULUTH, Minn. – The removal of 100-year-old steam pipes along Superior Street began today, part of which involves removing asbestos.

The City of Duluth is asking the public to follow safety signs so they do not go near spots where the asbestos is being removed.

Crews from the site say reconstruction of Superior Street is on schedule with the first phase.

Reconstruction West of Lake Avenue is expected to be completed by mid-October.
