Hundreds of people spent their Sunday carving pumpkins at Glensheen Mansion.
They are helping prepare for the mansion’s Spooktacular event that kicks off on Thursday where more than 1,000 pumpkins will line the grounds.
Once volunteers are done carving the gourds, UMD farms picks up the guts for compost.
“It is a lot of pumpkin. I have pumpkin juice on me and I’ve been moving pumpkins all day. But it’s a blast. It’s really great for the community to come in and see Glensheen in a different way,” said Jane Pederson, Glensheen’s marketing manager.
Carving continues through Tuesday from 1-7 p.m.
Volunteers get a free ticket to the opening night of Spooktacular for participating.
