Duluth City Council Approves Fire and Police Chief

Mike Tusken approved as police chief and Dennis Edwards approved as fire chief.

The Duluth City Council approved both of Mayor Larson’s selections for police and fire chief.

Mike Tusken was confirmed as new police chief and Dennis Edwards was confirmed as the city’s new fire chief.

The council praised the leadership of both men and the service both have provided to the city so far.

“I think we have a new appreciation for what that job looks like and how it’s done,” said Duluth city councilor  Elissa Hansen.

The council approved both finalists unanimously.

Mayor Larson expressed her satisfaction that Duluth’s public safety team is now complete.
