First serve For the Division II NCAA Women's Volleyball tournament is just days away as the University of Minnesota Duluth heads to the Central Regional for the 14th time in 15 years.

A year ago the University of Minnesota Duluth Volleyball team was disappointed on Selection Monday as the Bulldogs were left out of the Div. II NCAA Tournament for the first time under coach Jim Boos.  That's not the case this year though, as UMD made the field of 64.

The season ended for most Division II football teams last Saturday.  But the University of Minnesota Duluth is one of the lucky 28 teams programs that get to be a part of the national playoffs.

After a one year absence, the University of Minnesota Duluth is back in the NCAA Division II Football playoffs.

The University of Minnesota Duluth claimed the top spot in the college hockey polls with seven wins and two ties in the first 10 games of the season, against five nationally ranked opponents.  The Bulldogs ability to battle back has been a big reason why.

Saturday night in an AMSOIL Arena hallway, University of Minnesota Duluth Athletic Director Josh Berlo joked he ordered a second 'Number 1' flag.  He may need it, depending on how the Div. II volleyball coaches vote.

Visitors to the University of Minnesota Duluth campus after 3:00 p.m. Monday saw a unique site on the flagpoles.  The "Number 1" flag is flying after the Bulldogs topped the Division II volleyball coaches poll.

The most asked preseason question about Bulldog Hockey was "who would fill Kasimir Kaskisuo's pads between the pipes?"

The honor of being the highest ranked team on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus still belongs to Jim Boos' volleyball team who improved to 13–0 with three wins last week.

Through three weeks of college football two things are clear.   UMD's offense scores a lot of points while the defense gives up a bunch.

UMD Football went unranked in this week's Division II polls despite improving to 2–1 at Concordia-St. Paul over the weekend.

Safe to say through two football games, the University of Minnesota Duluth offense is as potent as ever, averaging 36 points a contest.  That's the good news.

The College of St. Scholastica had three athletes named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Players of the Week.

The University of Minnesota Duluth dropped from 19th to 23rd in the American Football Coaches Association Division II rankings after the Bulldogs dropped their season opener at Southwest Minnesota State.

Who says you can't go back to school?  Tuesday, the University of Minnesota Golden Gopher hockey program announced former U of M players Corey Millen and Ben Gordon joined the coaching staff.

As the University of Minnesota Duluth welcomed freshmen to campus everyone got involved.  Including the football team.
