Students at Holy Rosary School in Duluth got to show off their History Day projects Wednesday afternoon.

Each project is part of a national History Day competition.

The winner will move on to the University of Minnesota Duluth to compete regionally.

If it’s good enough they will move onto the state competition at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

One student’s project could end up at the national history day competition in Washington D.C.

“It takes some work to get them just off of google,” said 7th and 8th grade English/History teacher at Holy Rosary, Kristin Larson. “Once they do that they find that I can really find some interesting in books or in literature articles.”

Teachers say the most valuable piece of History Day is teaching kids to take multiple sources, and incorporate them into one project.
