Thursday, Northland children brought awareness to the issue of violence in the form of art.

The first–ever youth art show displayed the work of children who have been affected by violence. These children learned to use art as a form of healing, and to make something beautiful out of something terrible.

“For kids, art is really easy for them to do. They’re not inhibited at all by making art, so they’re able to just try and do it, and kind of healing themselves without necessarily realizing that they’re doing something so important,” said Jenn Salo, Assistant Director and Co-founder of North Central Windows Program.

The show will be on display through April 29 at Trepanier Hall in downtown Duluth.
