Monday, U of M President Erik Kaler paid a visit to UMD to discuss concerns on campus.
Specifically, Kaler addressed budget matters, and stated UMD and The Twin Cities campus are not comparable, because the Twin Cities campus is not a single–budget unit.
“Elements of our University have very different missions,” explained Kaler. “The mission of the medical school or the dental school is very different from the mission of the University of Minnesota Duluth, and there are very different costs associated with those different missions.”
President Kaler says freezing tuition for both undergrad and grad students is one of his top priorities.
