Wednesday evening members of the Minnesota House of Representatives stopped at Hibbing Community College on their state bonding tour.
The college is requesting just shy of $10 million to reinvent the education experience for its students.
Proposed renovations include creating an identifiable entrance, a one–stop student services center, and a high–tech library.
“Really what we’re trying to do is say to a student, ‘When you walk in the door, you’re going to be served immediately, and you’re going to be served comprehensively without having to be bounced around,’” explained Michael Raich, Provost at Hibbing Community College.
HCC leaders say with enrollment numbers down from past years, eliminating unused space will help reduce operating expenses on campus.
