It’s been a staple in the city since July of last year, and next week the crane towering over the Maurice’s headquarters construction project will come down.
The task will take an entire week to disassemble and remove the crane from downtown Duluth’s skyline.
Superior Street will be closed between 4th and 5th Avenue West starting Monday through Friday, October 16.
The sidewalk will remain open in front of Superior Street businesses.
Maurices spokespeople say this signifies an important milestone in the construction of the 11-story, $80 million dollar construction project- the near completion of the exterior work and one step closer to moving in to their new headquarters.
“We anticipate, weather permitting, that our building will be water tight by early November, which means that we can continue framing out the interiors, sheet rocking, carpeting, and installing furniture for a late April 2016 move-in,” said Laura Sieger, Maurice’s Associate Vice President of Communications.
Construction is still on schedule to be completed in spring of 2016.
