Talk about showing up to school in style.

For Fire Prevention Week the Duluth Fire Department has a contest each year and the lucky winners got to ride to school in a fire truck.

To participate in the contest children had to fill out a fire safety checklist that included making an escape plan and checking their smoke detectors.

One of the lucky winners was third grader Carsyn Stokes.

“It was bigger than a car and it wasn’t comfier than a car,” said Stokes about the ride in the truck.

Four boys and one girl won the contest.
