Duluth Expands Free Play Gym for Young Children
Preschool Aged Children Invited to Play for Free
Even though the weather Wednesday morning was a little messy, some Duluth children got a free play day.
The Duluth Heights Community Center hosts a free play gym every Wednesday morning, from 9:30 – 11:30.
They provide toys and snacks and games.
This week, a visit from Old Saint Nick had to be cancelled due to inclement weather; there was still a nice turnout of parents and kids.
The play gym is for parents who might not have a lot of play time opportunities for their preschool aged children.
“This program is very important to parents who want a large space to let their kids play and interact and run and get exercise,” said Pamela Page, a recreation specialist with the Duluth Parks and Rec Department.
The play gym is available every Wednesday, but will open on Fridays during the winter months.
