Superior’s Drug-Free Grad Party In Jeopardy
Superior High School’s annual drug-free grad party is in jeopardy of fading away because of a lack of funding.
Organizers say the corporate donations have been drying up and the cost to put on the big party continues to rise around $16,000 for the 250 students who attend every year.
“It’s for the kids. Nobody is making money on this. It’s just to provide a really good experience one last time before they go to college, or the military or whatever they chose to do – the work force,” explained Julie Urban, one of the organizers of the annual party.
The grad party is free of cell-phones, alcohol, smoking and drugs.
It’s been going on for 25 years.
The money raised will help with all the food, live entertainment and prizes.
