Valentine’s Day Holds A Powerful Meaning For The Owner Of Roseman’s Flowers

Julie Stabe owns the popular Roseman’s Flowers in Duluth.

She compares life and love to a red rose both flower and both have thorns.

Julie has been working hard filing Valentine orders.

” Actually these just got here– we got these ladies all cleaned and ready to go in the cooler.” Stabe said.

This season Roseman’s staff is missing a substantial member.

” During Valentine’s he kept it very jovial. He was always there to joke with the customers. While I did all the work always greeted everybody.” Stabe said.

Last spring, Julie unexpectedly lost her business partner, confidant and husband Steve.

“I can honestly say he was my soulmate. We had an amazing relationship like we could do anything. It didn’t matter what it was. Steve was a larger than life guy. He was a builder and built multi million dollar homes.” Stabe said.

So when Julie pitched the wild idea three years ago to Steve, she was shocked at his response.

” How about buying the Roseman? And he’s like really I’ve always wanted to do something like that.” Stabe said.

Now every clipping of the rose and care of the flowers are in remembrance of Steve.

Julie told us her time spent with Steve was cut short but she feels blessed to have had the experience of that level of love in her life.
