Northern Wisconsin Native to Set NASA Record

Williams to Spend More Time in Space Than Any Other American

A man who was born in Superior and raised in Winter, Wisconsin will be setting a new record in outer space.

At the end of a six month mission NASA’s Jeff Williams will break the American record for cumulative days in space.

That’s 534 days Williams will have spent in space over three different missions.

A Russian astronaut holds the world record at 878 days.

Williams was taken in the Soyuz space capsule also carrying two Russians to the international space station.

The crew is studying how the human body fares during longer stays in space.
