Earth Day is a day to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
People across the world and here in the Northland are making the effort to take public transit, save energy, and to recycle.
Western Lake Superior Sanitary District representatives say recycling is not only good for the environment, but also beneficial to the economy, and keeps materials that are still valuable resources, out of landfills.
Bottles, cans, paper products and plastic containers like milk jugs are among the items that can be recycled.
