Students Showcase Business Ideas for UMD Shark Tank

Some UMD entrepreneurs got the chance to showcase their business ideas.

Students at UMD hosted their very own version of the popular TV show, Shark Tank.

The entrepreneurs got to pitch their money-making ideas to a group of local business leaders for a chance to win some big cash prizes.

“It’s really important to have entrepreneurs know how to give a solid elevator pitch, it’s important to get it all out in a short amount of time, to get your point across,” said Abraham Tuomi, entrepreneur student.

After presenting their ideas, the students fielded hard-hitting questions from the panel of judges.

Top prize for the competition was $1,500.
