UMD Students Strive For Sustainable Campus
UMD Looks At Energy Alternatives
Up the hill at UMD, students from the Swenson College of Engineering showcased their efforts to create a more self sustainable campus.
Students showed off ideas about how to help make UMD more energy efficient. One group proposed adding solar panels across campus believing those panels would pay for themselves over time and help UMD stay committed to going green.
“We can start talking to local installers, in the Twin Cities, finding out the best Minnesota made panels is what we really want to stick with, and from that point on its just about having these installers come out and find the spot they think is best, what’s best for the university and then putting in the solar panels.”
