Pregnant Smoker Rate Increases In Douglas County
24.3% Of Pregnant Mothers In Douglas County Smoke
The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Center for Urban Initiatives and Research published a study showing the smoking rate for pregnant women in Wisconsin as stayed at around 13 to 14 percent for the last decade.
It’s a number that’s above the national average at nine percent.
Though the effects of smoking during pregnancy are well known, Douglas county’s number is even higher than the state average and has risen a percent from 23.4 percent to 24.3 percent.
