400 Mile Off-Road Trail Planned
MN DNR is planning to connect Lake Superior and North Dakota
According to the Associated Press, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has started plans for a 400 mile off-road adventure trail that would stretch from the shores of Lake Superior to the North Dakota border.
The DNR is working alongside the National Off-Road Vehicle Conservation Council and the Minnesota 4-Wheel Drive Associate to develop the trail, which is popular in Colorado and other western states.
The “Border to Border” trail would have low speeds and connect with communities and scenic spots along the way.
The Star Tribune reports that a kick-off meeting is scheduled for Monday in Grand Rapids with representatives from the DNR, U.S. Forest Service, and others.
