High School Musicians Gather at UWS For Tri-State Festival

Students Are Hand-Picked By Their Teachers

Band students from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan, came together in the twin ports for part of a special musical event.

High school musicians fill the rehearsal hall in the school of music at University of Wisconsin Superior.

They’re here for the Tri-State Band Festival.

The high school musicians in attendance get to have special instruction by band directors from around the country.

These students were hand-picked by their teachers to be part of this ensemble.

Those involved say it takes a lot of dedication and practice to get to the level they’re at.

“[Music] really is kind of like a stress reliever for me,” said Bayfield High School senior Bailey Cadotte. “It’s really like a beautiful thing to share your music with other people and stuff like that.”

The festival concludes with a performance tonight at 7:15 in Thorpe Langley Auditorium.
