Almost 2 Tons of Trash Thrown Out Illegally in Duluth This Year

1260 Pounds Of Trash Collected From Lincoln Park

A truck load of household garbage was dumped in Lincoln Park, but this isn’t an isolated incident.

The city has been fighting illegal garbage dumping for years. So far this year, close to ten tons of garbage has been collected off of the streets and parks of Duluth, and 1260 pounds of that were found in Lincoln Park. Volunteers have put in more than 3,000 hours of time to help clean the city.

“There’s plenty of means for disposal, I mean, if it’s yard waste it can go to WLSSD there’s also a recovery center up in rice lake that recovers appliances that we have,” said Robert Dunsmore the Park Maintenance Lead Worker for the City of Duluth Parks.

City officials ask, If you see anyone illegally dumping, to please call the police.
