MN Department of Health Issues Multiple Beach Advisories

Advisories in Place due to Elevated E.coli

DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Health issued multiple beach advisories on Tuesday following recent heavy rainfall and flood conditions throughout the area.

The following advisories are in place due to elevated E.coli bacteria levels that have been identified from recent samples and indicate the possible presence of fecal contamination.

The beaches listed on the advisory list are:

  • Agate Bay Beach – located in Two Harbors
  • Knife River Marina Beach – located south of Two Harbors at the mouth of Knife River
  • Twin Points Public Access Beach – located north of Gooseberry Falls State Park
  • Gooseberry Falls State Park Beach – located in Gooseberry Falls State Park, below the restroom parking lot
